Resort set overview

Turkey and Egypt, shortlisted by sand, shade, and season

Every resort on this list is reviewed against the same trip context: the month you travel, what the family budget allows, the ages of your children, and how much the walk to the water matters. Nothing is added because a hotel asked.

We record beach distance in metres, entry type (sand or pebble), wave exposure, lifeguard cover, and sunbed availability. Kids club hours and all-inclusive inclusions sit next to each entry, and price bands are listed by month and departure city.

  • Beach distance and entry type for each resort
  • Kids club hours and all-inclusive inclusions
  • Price bands by month from Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa

    Season and sea conditions

When the water actually works for families

Two coastlines cover almost every Ukrainian family beach trip. They behave very differently by month, and the differences matter more than hotel stars when you travel with small children.

    Turkish Riviera

    Antalya, Side, Belek, Kemer, Alanya

    Swim season
Mid-May to mid-October. Reliable warmth from early June.
    Sea temp
21 °C in May, 26–28 °C from July to September, still 25 °C in late October
    Entry
Fine sand at Side and Belek; pebble shelves in most Kemer coves
    Wave exposure
Sheltered bays at Side and Belek; open-water chop on Antalya city beaches after 15:00
    Heat note
July and August hit 33–35 °C at midday, so shade and indoor kids clubs carry the afternoon

Best family window: the first three weeks of June and the whole of September. Warm sea, softer prices, and no scramble for sunbeds before 09:00.

    Red Sea Coast

Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam

    Swim season
Year round. Air comfort peaks from October to April.
    Sea temp
22 °C in January, 26–29 °C from June to September
    Entry
Shallow sand lagoons at most Hurghada resorts; coral shelf at Marsa Alam needs water shoes
    Wave exposure
Lagoon-style calm in the morning, steady onshore wind from early afternoon
    Wind note
November to March afternoons can feel cool once you leave the water, so pack a light layer for kids

Best family window: late May and early October. Long lagoon shallows and 26 °C water without the July heat.
